1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar technologies make it possible to store or retrieve information on your device. The browser’s local storage serves a similar purpose and is also covered by this policy. Some technologies are needed to provide the service you ask for; those that require consent can only be used once it has been obtained.

This policy applies to the website edugenia.com and the platform app.edugenia.com, both run by Innovaforma Canarias, S.L. It describes the cookies and other technologies that store or retrieve information in your browser.

2. What we store in your browser

The table sums up what we store in your browser, what for and for how long. The storage is Edugenia’s own, except for the sign-in service’s, whose provider is named in section 3.

Platform preferences Remembering the language, the selected or favourite academy, editor views, export options and notices already seen.	No automatic expiry; updated when you change your preferences. Some options are kept only for the tab’s session.
Remembered sign-in Our own storage and the sign-in service’s, to keep you signed in between visits with “Remember me”.	When you turn on “Remember me” with this version, your sign-in ends after 30 days of inactivity in this browser. Sign-ins saved with earlier versions keep their duration and do not have this limit. You can end any sign-in by signing out or clearing the site’s data.
Sign-in service logs Recording activity dates and technical data about the service, even before you sign in.	Updated as you use the service, with no automatic expiry in the browser.
Catalogue browsing Restoring your search, filters and position when you return to the catalogue.	For the tab’s session.
Sign-up and sign-in in progress Restoring the details you entered and continuing sign-up, email verification or sign-in.	Temporary verification drafts last for the tab’s session. The data used to continue through an email link or to complete your profile is deleted when that step is finished; if you abandon it, it has no automatic expiry.
Work in the editor Keeping copies of drafts and restoring progress and navigation between content.	No automatic expiry; updated or deleted when you take the corresponding actions in the editor or clear the site’s data.
Purchase in progress Carrying on with the course or the academy’s name change when you come back from payment, and avoiding repeating those actions.	For the tab’s session, unless deleted earlier on returning from payment.

3. Providers and external services

We use Google Firebase to manage access to your account. Its sign-in storage and technical logs are described in the table above. You can find more details in its privacy and security information.

Payments are completed on an external page of the payment provider. An external page also opens if you choose to sign in with an account from another service. On those pages, see the cookie and privacy information provided by the service concerned.

4. Managing the notice

Pressing “Got it” saves your acknowledgement and closes the notice. You can open it again from “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Acknowledging this notice does not authorise advertising cookies, nor does it mean accepting the terms of use.

Your acknowledgement is remembered for 365 days; after that, the notice appears again when you come back to the site. The saved entry is replaced when you acknowledge again, or deleted when you clear the site’s data.

5. How to clear the information

You can delete cookies and other site data from your browser settings. When you do, the notice will appear again and the preferences and work data stored locally will be deleted. You may also be signed out. Clearing this data does not in itself delete your account or the content saved in your academy.

6. Updates and questions

We may update this policy when the cookies or similar technologies used, their purposes, their providers or the applicable rules change. We will publish the updated version on this page with the date of its revision.

If technologies or uses that require consent are added, we will update this information and ask for your choice before turning them on. Accepting and rejecting will be equally easy, and you will be able to change your mind from the preferences.
